The association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) promotes the use of a standardised system, based on harmonised environment, structures and procedures in order to ensure the reliable operation of international energy certificate systems.  If an issuing body is a member of the AIB, the system is use is standardized. The AIB is the guardian of the standardized European Energy Certificate System (EECS). EECS provides a harmonised and minimum common set of definitions and criteria for the creation, issuance, transfer and use of a certificate (Guarantee of Origin/RECS certificate).
